The Mach Xtreme Technology MX-DS Fusion 2.5″ 60GB SATA3 SSD MXSSD3MDSF-60G achieved very high maximum ratings on the SATA3 port, which is especially in ATTO benchmark and SiSoftware Sandra Driveindex very positively, but these results are not important for continuously transfer measurements.
The Mach Xtreme Technology MXSSD3MDSF-60G 60GB MLC Solid State Drive with SandForce Controller and 25nm Intel NAND was tested both in more current AHCI mode, and in legacy IDE mode, whereby the AHCI mode showed advantages.
The read and write performance values in ATTO benchmark and the SiSoftware Sandra Driveindex reached good results.
But the continuously transfer rates in AS SSD and CrystalDiskMark were much slower than the more expensive MX-DS Turbo with the same controller IC and faster 25nm Intel MLC memory.
The Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate boot procedure from start screen to login screen was approx. 10 seconds and the Windows 7 performance index reached 7.9 from 7.9 possible points.
All in all this Mach Xtreme Technology MX-DS Fusion 60GB SSD is more inexpensive than the previously tested Mach Xtreme Technology MX-DS Turbo SSD, but the transfer rates of continuous read and write traffic were much slower and did not achieve the maximum bandwidth of the SATA3 interface.
