Given the technical details, it will be already noticed by the reader …
… that this case has no external or internal 5 1/4 inch drive bays. As we have mentioned in a previous test, a 5 1/4 inch drive but nowadays no longer mandatory. Let us take a look at the back of the case.
Benefiting from the fans as well as the grid and the mesh slots the air flow will be very good. Another aspect of good ventilation can be found at the top.
Here we see the large 120mm fan, which can optionally be replaced by a 140 mm model. Of course, the typical controls such as the power button the two audio jacks, two USB 3.0 ports and a HDD activity LED may not be missing. The large vent stack is able to carry either fresh air into the case, or warm air out of it. Unfortunately here we can see the first negative aspect: The NZXT S340 does not have a reset button. However, this is essential if the computer crashes and is not able to restart “on its own”. In the reset operation, the components are simply restored to its “original state” and there is “only” the risk of data loss.
And last but not least we take a look under the NZXT S340 case.
Here we can recognize very well the second dust filter, which can unfortunately not as simple as the front filter be removed.
It ensures the fresh air supply of the power supply, which is also favored by the high standing feet. These are fitted with rubber pads to make the housing slip secure.
