At this point we are sorry that we can not show show you the usual screenshot of the CrystalDiskInfo 4.3.0 SSD and HDD information software, because the Samsung 960 Pro was not supported. With external temperature measurement we could reach a maximum M.2 SSD temperature of 58.2°C in the Ultra M.2 slot below the graphics card. So the internal measurement is just over 70°C. This is regarding the low power consumption a fairly high temperature, but for M.2 and mSATA PCBs quite common.
Tip:
As can be seen for example on the following graph based on the writing values, the M.2 SSD transfer rate is reduced to lower the SSD temperature after longer transfer rates. If you like to reduce the SSD temperature for longer maximum transfer rates, could perform an active SSD cooling by direct ventilation or attach commercially available silicone heat transfer pads to the top of the PCB.
