Test setup and results …
The test system consists of the following components …
CPU | AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Processor |
AMD Motherboard | MSI X470 Gaming M7 AC |
RAM | 2x 8GB Patriot Viper DDR4 3200MHz CL16 |
Chassis | Corsair Crystal 680X (closed) |
Ambient temperature | approx. 25 °C |
Review of the temperature using Prime95 in the latest version 29.4 Build 8, the ambient temperature was 25°C. The Prime95 load was maintained until no temperature increase could be detected for 5 minutes.
The MSI Commandcenter was used for fan control to set fan speeds of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%.
You can see from the temperatures that the small 120mm version of the Enermax Liqmax III in both versions is already struggling with the temperatures of the test system. Although the temperatures are still good and Prime95 is also a load you don’t have in your daily PC life, but we wouldn’t recommend overclocking with either of the two versions.
However, the AIO solution benefits from the fact that both versions are not really noticeable from the closed system. The noise level of the Liqmax III 120 with 100% speed is approx. 32dBA and the Liqmax III 120 RGB with approx. 26dBA. The values were measured using calibrated smartphone apps.
