Practical testing …
If you install a Micro- or Mini-ATX motherboard, you can fill all fan slots with radiators. Here you can easily fit 240/280/360mm radiators at the top, 240/280mm at the sides and 240/280/360mm at the bottom. However, the thickness should not exceed 5.5mm at the bottom and the fans should be mounted in pull mode, i.e. blowing towards the graphics card.
If a Full ATX motherboard is installed, there is unfortunately no room for a radiator on top. It would almost certainly collide with the installed RAM and possible VRM heatsinks. Also, the lower PCIe slots should not be used, since cards installed here would also touch the radiator. When using an ATX motherboard, a maximum of one 280mm radiator remains in the side panel. However, the top and bottom fans are not a problem and should be installed for good airflow.
We installed a system in the Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini that was composed of an ASRock B450M Pro4 Mini ATX motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 1800X processor, 2x 8GB of DDR4-2666 memory, a Samsung 970 Evo NVMe SSD, and a Sapphire Radeon R9 390X Nitro+.
A BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4 serves as cooler here, which fits in without any problems! In addition, 2x 140mm Cooler Master MasterFan MF140R aRGB and a 120mm Cooler Master MasterFan MF121L RGB were installed.
The system also looks much faster when illuminated – RGB makes everything faster, doesn’t it? 😀
