Crucial T700 2TB Heatsink vs Crucial T700 1TB M.2 PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD Review

Hot duel between the two high-end PCIe 5.0 SSDs! Today we will test at OCinside.de the brand-new T700 Pro SSDs from Crucial. We will check how the Crucial T700 1TB and the Crucial T700 2TB SSDs perform with some benchmark results as well as practical tests. In the review, we will also show whether you should buy the T700 Pro SSD with heatsink or without heatsink.

Thanks for the support …

Thanks for the support to the manufacturer Crucial.

The Crucial T700 Pro 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD with heatsink CT2000T700SSD5 has at review date a price of approx. 399 Euro. The Crucial T700 Pro 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD without heatsink CT1000T700SSD3 has at review date a price of approx. 190 Euro.

The Crucial T700 Pro SSD series currently includes the following models:
– Crucial T700 SSD 1TB M.2 CT1000T700SSD3
– Crucial T700 SSD 2TB M.2 CT2000T700SSD3
– Crucial T700 SSD 4TB M.2 CT4000T700SSD3

The Crucial T700 SSD with heatsink series currently includes the following models:
– Crucial T700 SSD 1TB M.2 with heatsink CT1000T700SSD5
– Crucial T700 SSD 2TB M.2 with heatsink CT2000T700SSD5
– Crucial T700 SSD 4TB M.2 with heatsink CT4000T700SSD5

The read and write values are specified with different performance depending on the SSD capacity and the lifetime with different TBW (Total Bytes Written) values depending on the capacity. The smallest T700 1TB SSD is specified with 11700MB/s read performance and 9500MB/s write performance, while the Crucial T700 2TB and 4TB can achieve a higher read performance of up to 12400MB/s and a significantly higher write performance of up to 11800MB/s.

Overall, the possible read and write performance of the 2TB T700 with and without heatsink is thus significantly higher than the 1TB T700 SSD, at least if the system requirements are right for it, but more on that in a moment on the Layout, design and features page.

Here you can order the Crucial T700 SSD with and without heatsink. *Ad

The delivery of the Crucial CT1000T700SSD3 and CT2000T700SSD5 …

The Crucial T700 2TB with heatsink (left in the picture) and Crucial T700 1TB without heatsink were packed in an even smaller carton than the Crucial P5, P3, P2 and P1, whereby the SSD carton with the heatsink has of course become much thicker.

The back of the T700 boxes are similar in design except for the hanger. They show by means of a link and QR code how to get to the Welcome page, where you can download data transfer software, instructions and firmware updates. Alternatively, we offer some manual guides to SSD copying in the forum. In addition, the back of the box describes the backwards compatibility from Gen5 to Gen4 and Gen3 along with the possible transfer rates of the PCIe Gen5 SSD compared to PCIe Gen4 (up to 1.8x) and PCIe Gen3 (up to 3.4x). Thus, you should use the T700 SSDs in a PCIe Gen5 slot if possible.

This is included in the delivery package …

The blister packs can be easily pulled out of the carton.

The blister packs can be opened and closed comfortably and without scissors. Besides the Crucial T700 with heatsink and the Crucial T700 SSD without heatsink, a small leaflet with warranty information is also included. An M.2 screw is no longer included and should be included in the motherboard box.

Let’s first look at the technical specifications of the two SSDs.
