The card looks almost silly in size. However, when you consider that the majority of it consists of coolers, this is quickly put into perspective.
Of course, the three large 95 mm fans make a significant contribution to this.
This is because the large heat sink is able to keep the card at a very good temperature level. However, it also takes up a whopping 3.5 slots in the housing.
Also included is the new 12V HPWR connection, which is capable of supplying the card with up to 600W.
The large backplate ensures that heat is dissipated more easily from the back of the card, as well as providing an attractive appearance.
But what is that? Overclocking by button? MSI dismisses this button with one sentence. “With the dual BIOS, you have the choice of whether you prefer full performance in GAMING mode or low noise development in SILENT mode.” That leaves a lot of room for interpretation!
The connections do not come as a surprise. The three display port connections naturally support the new 1.4a standard. The HDMI connection has 2.1a support.
The cable whip enables the graphics card to be connected to a power supply unit that does not have the 12V HPWR connection. In this case, however, the maximum power consumption is reduced to 450 W. However, there are also cable whips with 4 connections, which in turn provide the full 600 W.
Now we come to the installation and commissioning of the graphics card.
