The EV3240X comes in an inconspicuous black and therefore blends seamlessly into any office desk, especially as it is available in both black and white. As well as using the stand supplied, it can also be used with a VESA mount (100 x 100 mm). In our test, however, we opted for the supplied stand. Speaking of the stand, let’s start with the assembly. The stand is attached to the bracket using two screws and the monitor is adjusted to the maximum height.
Once this is done, the bracket and base can be positioned accordingly …
… and simply mount the display. If you prefer, you can also place the monitor with the panel surface on a clean cloth beforehand. If you subsequently decide to use the monitor on a separate VESA mount, a quick press of the button is all it takes to detach the display from the mount. Incidentally, the mechanics are of very high quality. Even after mounting and dismounting several times, everything was firmly in place!
Even if the holder looks quite narrow, it provides a stable stand for the massive display.
In contrast to many other monitors of this size, the display can also be operated vertically on the stand.
Viewed from behind, we can also see why. Thanks to an ingenious rail system on the bracket and in the stand itself, the height of the Eizo can be adjusted by a full 20 cm. Lateral adjustment and tilting are also easy. This can even be done easily with one hand.
Now let’s take a look at the monitor’s interfaces. Starting on the left-hand side, we find two HDMI connections, followed by a DisplayPort and USB-C connection. This is followed by an R45 interface in Gigabit version as well as a USB 3.0 B and two USB 3.0 A interfaces.
Since the Eizo EV3240X has an integrated 200 watt power supply, we find the connection for the power cord on the left side as well as a power switch that completely disconnects the power supply – very exemplary!
On the right-hand side, we can also find two USB connections as well as the headphone and microphone sockets. Incidentally, the USB port marked with the battery has continuous power. This means that unless the monitor is completely switched off, you can charge your USB devices here at any time.
That’s about it, so it’s time to switch on the Eizo EV3240X.
