Layout, design and features …
Let’s now take a more detailed look at the P310 SSD from Crucial.
Visually, the SSD is inconspicuous in black, the 1TB memory chip from Micron is completely covered with a label. On this we can see the most important data about the SSD, such as the interface and specification, the size and serial number, firmware, etc.. The 3D barcode is not easily scannable and is of no further use to us.
If we remove the label, we can take a look at the built-in controller including the memory chip. A Phison PS5027-E27T is used which, according to the data sheet, is capable of up to 7400 MB/s read and 6500 MB/s write sequentially. On the temperature side, it can withstand 70°C before throttling sets in. We have not yet been able to find out any further key data about the memory chip installed. We will take a look later to see whether it is able to exploit the controller to its full potential.
We don’t find much on the back either. All in all, the P310 from Crucial has a clean finish. Ultimately, there is nothing to complain about here.
Before we turn to the benchmarks and see what the P310 has to offer, here is a small size comparison with an SD card.
We continue with the practical testing and the benchmarks …
