AOC Agon Pro AG276QZD2 Monitor Review

Practical testing…

Although the stand is only encased in plastic instead of metal, this is not noticeable after assembly and without a closer look compared to the metal stand. From this angle, the stand can be seen slightly cut off, which gives the user space on the desk. In comparison with the U3477PQU, which also has a square stand, some additional space can be gained in terms of width. As can be seen here, the display can be rotated to the left and right. It can also be moved vertically, the pivot function is available.

By default, the back starts to light up in color when it is switched on, but the user on the other side hardly benefits from this if it is placed freely.

AOC Agon Pro Software …

Of course, AOC also offers options for convenient hardware configuration via software. With G-Menu (AOC software see AOC U32G3x Monitor Test) the LEDs can also be adjusted via “Light Effects”. Different gaming profiles can be created precisely. There is therefore no need to fiddle with bulky buttons on the monitor itself. Those who concentrate on office work or professional gaming can certainly tolerate higher blue values in the blue light settings. Towards the evening during a private gaming session, for example, you can switch to a slightly warmer color setting.

AOC Agon Pro Gaming …

We did not miss the opportunity to play with the predefined profile for real-time strategy AOE4. Ultimately, the profiles define features such as contrast, brightness, color temperature and overdrive. As a rule, balanced values are already optimal for most games. However, it is easy to imagine working with shadow brightening for stealth or horror titles, as this can be set separately from the brightness of the rest of the image. If you run out of torches in Minecraft underground, you could also switch over. With AOE4, we did not notice any special features in the display resulting from the profile. A display port input was used in the test. However, we did notice some general factors, which are described below.

AOC Agon Pro picture quality …

The QD-OLED panel scores with 2560 x 1440 pixels, while the pixel density of 110.8 ppi is solid at a conventional sitting distance. In terms of color reproduction, there is no change in black levels from different viewing angles, nor is there any glowing, as is the case with IPS panels. The monitor therefore avoids all the disadvantages of known panel variants. In general, the color representation appears authentic and very nuanced, i.e. neither clearly oversaturated nor too restrained. However, reflections on the display can be somewhat strong.

All important resolutions with 16:9 format are listed here again in a small table so that you can quickly compare the different resolutions for monitors and TV sets:

16:9 HD Monitor resolutions

Quad Ultra High Definition QUHD 16K / 8640p 15360×8640 Pixel

AOC Agon Pro response time …

0.03 ms response time is really as fast as an arrow and has a very positive effect, as there are no perceptible streaks. In AOE4, the player has to switch quickly between idle workers and the attack force. The monitor is ideally suited for this.

AOC Agon Pro brightness …

With 250 cd/m² brightness, the model is quite “independent” in the sense that hardly any external lighting is absolutely necessary. So if the gaming session lasts a little longer on a winter evening, this is hardly a problem even with weak lamps in the room. The brightness distribution was particularly positive, as all areas subjectively appear to be illuminated identically. This is not a given, even with higher-priced gaming monitors. To achieve this, the screen surface was colored uniformly during image processing.
