AOC Gaming U32G3X Monitor Review

Layout, design and features …

The AOC Gaming U32G3X/BK is completely black except for fine red appliqués on the lower panel edge, on the back and on the monitor base and makes an excellent impression at first glance.

The monitor is supplied with the stand removed. The monitor is equipped with a matt IPS panel and has a sticker on the lower edge of the panel, which can be easily removed.

On the back of the panel you can see a 100×100 VESA mount in the middle, which is also the mount for the stand. A corresponding 100×100 VESA cover is therefore not required and is not included in the scope of delivery.

As you can see here on the back, the power supply unit is integrated into the monitor. It is therefore simply connected to an IEC plug, whereby the connection cable is included in the scope of delivery. You can also see all the connections on the left-hand side. From left to right you can see 2x HDMI, 2x DisplayPort and a headphone connection. You won’t find a USB port, as the monitor has no USB-C or USB-A connection and does not have an integrated USB hub.

The monitor mount is very easy to install by screwing the monitor stand to the monitor base with a Phillips screw. Now place the panel on a flat surface, insert the retaining plate into the upper retaining lugs of the VESA mount and then snap the lower retaining lugs into place. The Kensington lock can be seen at the bottom right of the picture. Overall, the back looks very tidy, but by no means boring.

Even when viewed from the side, the monitor still cuts a fine figure and although the monitor stand has a relatively slim design, it offers a stable stand.

The monitor stand allows an inclination of 3.5° downwards and 21.5° upwards.

The height can be adjusted by up to 130 mm so that it can be easily adapted to the user’s height.

The monitor can also be swiveled sideways by up to 30° if there is no room for the monitor in the middle of the table.

And last but not least, we would of course like to take a look inside the housing to get an idea of the workmanship. Everything makes a good impression and has been neatly finished, and there is even room for two flat speakers in the housing.

Overall, the workmanship leaves a good impression, even if we are unfortunately already missing the USB connection.

Now we come to the practical testing.
