Layout, design and features …
Visually, the monitor makes a pleasantly simple impression. The upper part is frameless and the lower part only houses the labeling for the controls and the Phantom Gaming imprint.
The controls themselves are located on the underside of the monitor. The number and pressure point of the buttons, which provide clear feedback when pressed, is pleasing.
The buttons are clearly labeled and the appropriate LED can be seen next to them, which indicates the operating status of the monitor.
If we look at the back of the monitor, we see …
… the Kensington Lock, which is particularly useful if you regularly take your monitor to LAN parties.
Unfortunately, 90% of users will not be able to see the attractive emblem on the stand once it has been fitted.
The obligatory mains connection must not be missing and implies that the monitor already has a built-in power supply unit.
The ASRock PG27FFX2A is not stingy with connections. In addition to the DisplayPort, there are two HDMI connections, a USB upload, two USB-A sockets and an audio input via a 3.5mm jack socket.
The two speakers, which are powered by two 2-watt drivers, are located directly underneath. It is clear that no cinema quality can be expected here. However, it is easily sufficient for a quick round without preheating the tube amplifier of the surround system.
The two SMA sockets on the underside of the stand are used to connect the integrated WLAN antennas to the PC.
Now we come to the installation and practical testing of the ASRock PG27FFX2A gaming monitor.
