ASRock has been involved in the hotly contested graphics card market recently. With the new RX 5700 XT Taichi X 8G OC+ including their own OC-Tool and addressable RGB lighting, ASRock offers a fully equipped top class gaming graphics card. Instead of simply copying AMD’s reference design, ASRock provides the 7nm Navi graphics chip with a 10+1 phase power supply. The cooling is supported by three fans, which should promise highest clock rates. The test sample that ASRock temporarily provided us with for the evaluation came to us in a slightly damaged packaging and with slight scratches on the backplate, but this had no negative impact on the function of the graphics card. At least the cooler didn’t seem to have been dismantled yet, which suggests that the original heat conducting paste and thus the original performance of the card, as it should be expected at purchase, was still available at the time of testing. On the front side of the package ASRock already points out with a golden OC+ sticker the standard performance increase compared to the AMD reference design.
The back of the packaging was fully utilized to point out the most important features of the gaming graphics card. These include the generous cooling system with 3 fans including aRGB LED lighting, the support of up to 6 displays and the reference to the in-house overclocking software TAICHI TWEAK.
After opening the box and removing the upper foam insert, we already see the ASRock RX 5700 XT Taichi X OC+ Gaming graphics card wrapped in antistatic foil. Packed that well, the graphics card should withstand even rough transport conditions.
After the first hands-on with the object of desire, we immediately notice that ASRock has by no means saved on the design. All components look high quality and the cooler leaves a very solid first impression.
