Result and general impression …
The Crucial T705 SSD delivers an extremely high sequential read and write rate and, with good cooling, maintains consistently high transfer rates even with large file transfers.
However, good cooling is absolutely essential for such PCIe 5.0 SSDs, as the M.2 SSDs first run into thermal throttle during longer file transfers without a heat sink and then deactivate themselves. However, if something like this happens, it is sufficient to shut down the PC and switch it on again. So if you are using a mainboard without an SSD cooler, you should choose the T705 with heat sink and if you already have M.2 coolers, you can save yourself the extra charge.
The T705 also offers power failure protection to increase data security and adaptive temperature protection.
Incidentally, the Crucial T705 2TB SSD is specified with a very high 1200 TBW (total/tera bytes written). This specification is not only important for the warranty (Crucial now offers a limited 5-year warranty), but also speaks for the high durability of the NAND cells. If you want to know more about TBW, you can find numerous data and formulas at Micron and in the JEDEC SSD specifications.
Another plus point is that the Crucial T705 SSD can also be used in games consoles such as the Playstation 5.
All in all, the latest Crucial T705 2TB SSD deserves the popular OCinside.de Overclocking Dream Award 05/2024 with this high performance!
