Result and general impression …
Deepcool has optimally implemented the experience gained with the last coolers in the development of the Assassin IV and designed an absolute top air cooler that is perfectly adapted to the needs of modern CPUs!
Both cooling performance and ease of installation are at the highest level that can be expected from air coolers. Any inconveniences such as particularly high RAM modules or VRM coolers do not prevent the Assassin IV from being installed and, in the event of fan damage, a standard fan can be used as a replacement if necessary.
The two included fans remain surprisingly quiet up to approx. 1400 rpm and still deliver excellent cooling performance. A third fan can be added using the enclosed adapter to improve the cooling a little further at a reasonable noise level.
Although there is no RGB lighting, the design of the Assassin IV is still an absolute highlight with a particularly elegant look that is second to none. Alternatively, it is also available in white.
With this impressive overall result, the DeepCool Assassin IV easily secures our OCinside.de Overclocking Dream Award 12/2023 and we hope to be able to test similarly powerful and well-designed coolers more often in the future.
For a comparison with other coolers, it is worth taking a look at our CPU cooler comparison 2021 on the Intel Core i5 PC and the CPU cooler comparison 2018, tested on an AMD AM4 PC system. Here is the CPU cooler chart 2016 on the Intel Core i5 PC and the CPU cooler comparison 2016, tested on an Intel Core i7 PC system. And here is the previous CPU cooler chart with CPU coolers before 2016. However, a direct comparison with our previously tested coolers is not possible, as the test system has changed fundamentally in the meantime.
