In this review we have tested the Coolermaster CH5 5K12 Heatpipe Cooler and measured the temperature results with our test setup. Additionally you can listen to an embedded MP3 fan sound sample of the fan on the respective heatsink.
Name | Cooler Master CH5-5K12 |
Size over all L/B/H | +++ 61/50/50 mm The heatsink size isn’t bigger than the Sockel. |
Cooling output | o 11 CFM (~5500 rpm) |
Noise level | + 35 dB (A) Even though the rotation speed is high the sound is not too loud. The cause could be the low CFM. Listen to the sound: |
Mounting | ++ The metall clip is not good arrested so the clip move to both sides but because of the low clip tension it’s still easy to fit this heatsink. |
Cooling results | — 50° C at 1,75 Volt CPU voltage and 54° Celsius at 1,90 Volt. |
General impression |
o This peculiar heatpipe construction looks like a small refrigerator and i had to wait long time to test one of these fans because it’s most time not available on stock. This heatsink is very pretty but i think the bad CFM of the fan gave the bad cooling result. So i think this is a very nice fan for your glass cupboard but not for your overclocked CPU 😉 |
