NZXT F360 RGB Core and NZXT RGB Fan Controller Review

Practical testing …

After installing the 360mm triple fan and configuring the controller, we check what the kit is capable of.

In direct comparison with the original fans of the 360mm radiator, which have a maximum speed of 1800 rpm, the NZXT fans clearly stand out. With their up to 2400 rpm, they generate a significantly stronger airflow when required. However, as our test CPU does not consume more than 130W, the additional power of the NZXT F360 RGB Core does not lead to a reduction in CPU temperature, as the water of the water cooling system cannot be cooled below room temperature. However, when cooling an extremely power-hungry CPU, the higher airflow of the NZXT fans can be an advantage.

The F360 single-frame fan can not only be powerful, but also quiet if the speed is kept low. If desired, they can even stand completely still. The liquid bearings and the geometry of the fan blades effectively help the fan to operate quietly. Here too, the F360 RGB Core can easily keep up with well-known manufacturers, as we did not notice any annoying noises during the test. However, care must be taken with close-meshed dust protection grilles directly in front of the fans. The suction power of the NZXT fans is so high that a whistling noise is produced, similar to the noise when the nozzle of a vacuum cleaner is largely closed. High air velocity at small cross-sections causes this noise. It is not a noise generated by the fan itself, but merely proof of high performance and therefore no reason for complaint.
