The NZXT Function MiniTKL convinces in practical testing over its full length. The material feel is excellent and it stands firmly in place without slipping when typing. The installed linear, red Gateron switches are particularly well suited for gaming. The keystrokes are precise and provide a clear acoustic feedback without being too loud. The feedback during typing is excellent.
Since the keyboard is higher than a normal office keyboard, a palm rest would also be desirable for the mini variant. If necessary, you would have to use a palm rest from an accessory store, but it would probably not fit as well as a manufacturer’s palm rest.
The RGB lighting with its numerous modes and setting options convinces all along the line. Whether static, swelling, or changing in any color and direction, all known lighting modes are on board. The intensity of the illumination is adjustable and thanks to per-key illumination, every key is equally bright.
The operation of the software succeeds intuitively and leaves no questions unanswered. Whether overclocking the GPU from a keyboard programming software is necessary is of course questionable, but better a few more functions than one important function too few.
