NZXT H7 Flow RGB 2024 Review

Practical testing …

After the description, it is time to fill the housing with life.

An ASRock B650 Steel Legend WiFi is used, which has also already been tested on OCinside.de. An AMD Ryzen 7 7700 and an Arctic Freezer 36 are installed to match the case in the ARGB version. A 120mm ARGB fan is also installed at the rear.

A graphics card is also a must. NZXT has also provided a vertical mount to present this better.

This is simply fixed to the rear with screws instead of the 7 slot bezels. There is also a small support to prevent very large graphics cards from hanging. The mount is designed to be very stable so that the support will often not be necessary. It is equipped with a PCI-Express 4.0 riser cable, which ensures that even the fastest GPUs currently available, such as the Nvidia RTX 4090, always have full bandwidth. The vertical mount is not only compatible with all NZXT H7 models, but also with the smaller NZXT H5 and H6 and the larger NZXT H9 models. It is available in black and white. However, with a price of approx. 90 euros, it is a little too expensive despite the very good workmanship and the high-quality riser cable used.

When using the vertical mount, however, you should pay attention to which CPU cooler is to be combined with the graphics card. The initial plan was to use a Palit GeForce RTX 4070 Ti. Unfortunately, the card’s power connection is so inconveniently located that the CPU cooler would be in the way. We therefore recommend using an AIO to cool the CPU for cards with a short PCB. This way, there is always enough space for all graphics cards.

In order to still be able to install a graphics card, a KFA2 GeForce GTX 1070 EX was chosen. This has power connections that are significantly further back, which are not covered by the CPU cooler and therefore fit perfectly.

The other components are located on the back. Two Seagate HDDs and two SSDs were installed. The PC is supplied with power by the new NZXT C1500 with 1500 watts. This will be presented in detail in a separate test. Cable management went smoothly despite the large number of cables required. Thanks to the generous space and the Velcro straps for mounting, the result is impressive.
