SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL Wireless Review

Result and general impression …

Admittedly, we were skeptical at first. As regular users of full-size keyboards, we felt a little uncomfortable at the sight of the tenkeyless version of the SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL Wireless. However, this completely subsided after the first few hours.

Of course, entering numbers via the numpad is more convenient. If this is absolutely necessary, you can use the cable version of the Apex or place a separate numeric keypad next to this keyboard.

The workmanship is good, and the choice of OmniPoint switches is plausible except for the direction buttons. SteelSeries could have made these Omnipoint switches. The OLED display could have been a little brighter, but this is also due to the fact that the same content is displayed here over a longer period of time. This brightness level was probably chosen to prevent burn-in.

The software could be made a little clearer and, above all, slimmer. But that would be nothing that SteelSeries couldn’t do with an update or a slimmed-down software version 😉

We also really enjoyed working with the Apex Pro TKL Wireless Keyboard!

Functions such as double binding or rapid trigger simply make sense for the intended use, namely gaming. A solid battery life, a good palm rest, great RGB lighting and the flexibility of the connection round off the overall package.

With these innovative hall-effect magnetic sensors, the SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL Wireless Keyboard receives our OCinside.de Innovation Award 08/2024!
