The hardware is state of the art in this area and upgradeable. With up to 24TB per disk, 4TB per NVME and the option to install 16GB RAM, you have enough power for the next few years, provided the CPU requirements do not change significantly.
The CPU and RAM are sufficient to start VMs and containers rather than resource-hungry projects and services. However, you should bear in mind that you are using an Intel N100 with 4 cores here.
All the important basic functions you would expect from a NAS are supported out of the box. Only the registration requirement for multimedia support is a little annoying. However, there are enough options to work around it without losing your data.
