Introduction …
Some time has passed since the release of the AMD Ryzen 7 3700X processor (see AMD 3700X review), and AMD has now released AGESA 1.0.0.6, which fixes the early issues. Now we will look at the differences between the AMD Ryzen 7 3700X and the 3800X and test if the extra charge is worth it and if you can get the performance of a 3800X out of the 3700X. In order to allow as many people as possible to benefit from this, we will not make any special adjustments in the UEFI or manual overclocking and will use the official Ryzen Master Tool from AMD.
Benchmark Tools …
For the benchmarks we chose Cinebench R20, AIDA64, CPU-Z and the CPU test from TimeSpy (3DMark). The tools can be downloaded from our OC Download page. We are also testing a setting with 45 watts TDP to see how the AMD Ryzen 7 3700X performs in small enclosures without a good cooling option and if there are significant performance losses.
